Thank you for reading the entries in our Mysteries Contest.
Please vote for your favorites here, using approval voting (i.e. vote for however many you want).
We will probably keep voting open until the end of the day on August 31 in case you want a chance to go back and re-read your favorites. In case you’ve forgotten, the finalists are:
- Why is autism rare among the Amish?
- Have Attention Spans Been Declining?
- What’s the Deal With
Airplane FoodIodine and Longevity?
That’s right, only three finalists!

oh nice, another fan of approval voting?

For the “travel weight loss” question, I wonder if higher elevation = weight loss? For instance, I’m in metro Detroit (~650ft above sea level) and places like Denver (duh) or Munich (~1700ft) or Madrid (~2100ft) are considerably higher elevation. Much of Europe and, conspicuously, Denver were noted as “weight loss locations.” I’ve been to Denver and its not like the food options are radically different than the American Midwest (other than green chicken chili reigning supreme).
Not sure if that holds true for enough locations noted, but it was at least something that made me wonder.
